Baptiste came to Paris from Bordeaux on business and made a great decision: to add some personal photos to the visuals of his account. With many years of experience and several successful projects behind him, he has become one of the most well-known bartenders in his hometown.
This kind of content is not just about style, but about the person behind the
bar. The new photographs seamlessly complemented his expert posts about
cuisine, cocktails, gastronomy, and inspiration, becoming a vibrant accent in
Baptiste’s visual story.
Project Objective
The main goal of the shoot was to convey Baptiste’s individual style, reveal
different facets of his character, and create a series of photographs that
would seamlessly complement his blog and personal brand.
The idea was to move away from traditional male imagery and to bring elements
of lightness, depth, and freshness into the visual narrative.
Shooting Process
Despite the rain that started, the shoot was dynamic and productive. Baptiste adapted easily to the conditions, and the photos turned out lively and atmospheric.
Emotions and Mood
The shoot became an emotional story about a man who is not afraid to be
different. The images are filled with lightness and free from
affectation—ranging from deep thoughtfulness to gentle joy and spontaneous,
instant smiles.
Special attention was paid to nuances: the gaze, gestures, weary or dreamy
moments when the hero is alone with himself. Spring became a metaphor for
renewal, sensuality, and inner acceptance.
Shooting Style
Documentary approach: Scenes were constructed “in motion, ” through natural interaction with the environment.
Light: Almost all shots were taken in natural, soft light, often on cloudy days. This helped achieve pleasant, deep tones and a cinematic sense of depth.
Composition: The use of reflections, clear urban lines, as well as
framing branches and random details, added visual diversity without distracting
from the personality of the hero.
Interaction with surroundings: Poses and actions were chosen intuitively—the hero could walk, thoughtfully climb stairs, linger among branches, or blend into reflections, emphasizing both personal and inner dynamics.
Black-and-White Photography as a Visual Accent
Some portraits were shot in monochrome—a deliberate choice to draw maximum attention to emotions, facial features, and mood. Black-and-white style removes everything unnecessary from the frame, allowing the viewer to focus on what’s most important: feelings, gaze, and the moment itself. Monochrome made the series deeper in meaning and gave it a timeless quality, independent of trends or geography.
Result
The result was a multi-layered series that combines the freshness of spring,
the honesty of the moment, and emotional richness. Every location, angle, and
mood of each shot became a reflection of the different facets of Baptiste’s
character.
These photographs strengthened his personal brand and brought warmth and a
distinctive individual tone to his blog.

Working with Baptiste was a confirmation for me: sincerity and attention to detail in photography can reveal new meanings even in familiar stories.
The combination of urban landscapes, spring freshness, and honest emotions made it possible to go beyond stereotypes and create a portrait where anyone can see not only the main character, but also something personal and close to themselves.
This project reminded me: real photography begins where there is a meeting of the gaze, trust, and mutual interest. It is during such shoots that images are born which remain meaningful not only for the hero, but also for everyone who sees them.
